When does the Soccer Program begin and end?

A. Practices and games will begin in the middle to end of May (weather dependent). The season ends with playoff week at the mid-August.

What days of the week does the house league program play?

A. The games will be played between Monday – Friday.   Standardized Training Schedule for all House League means coaches will have the opportunity to bring their teams to either Club Roma fields or Sir Winston turf on Saturday mornings.

We will be aiming for the following game schedule dependent fully on field availability:          U4, Soccer Starters: Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm at Roma  U6 BOYS: Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm at Roma  U8: Tuesday from 7pm to 8pm at Roma, U6 and U8 GIRLS play on Thursday, U10: Monday games from 6pm to 7pm at Roma  U12: Mondays and or Tuesdays. Game times vary from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.   U14: Anticipated game night is Tuesdays. Possible interlock division with other clubs. Game times vary from 6:00pm to 7:30pm

What do I have to provide for my child to participate in the Program?

A.  The child must have shin protection (Ontario Soccer Association requirement) and proper soccer cleats.  Note: U4, Soccer Starters players may wear running shoes.

What will my child do in the program?

A. Your child will learn basic and developmental soccer skills, team work, have fun, increase their fitness level and make new friends.

Where will my child be playing?

A.  All games will be held at Club Roma as field availability permits.  Otherwise games may be held at Woodgale or parks nearby including the turf field at Sir Winston Churchill High School.  Interlock division games may be played at neighbouring clubs such as Thorold or Niagara on the Lake.

Who mentors my child when they participate in the Program?

A. All of our mentors are parent and/or student volunteers who wish to participate to make a difference in the child's learning experience. All of our volunteers will be offered a chance to participate in ongoing coaching clinics that enhance the quality of our coaches.

Is there fee assistance available?

A. Registration assistance is available through programs such as “Pro Kids” and “Jumpstart".  No child will be refused.

I would like to Coach my child's team. What do I do?

When completing your child's registration, there is a section to complete if you would like to volunteer.  Our volunteers receive a coaching discount of $50.00 / U6 and up and $40.00 for U4, Soccer Starters.  All coaches, once approved must provide an up to date Vulnerable Sector Records Check through NRPS.

Can I make special requests?

No player or coach requests are accepted.

I don't have a credit card. Can I pay in person?

All payments are now done online.

How do I reach someone to ask questions?

Email is always best and the quickest. Email scromasoccer@gmail.com for answers to your questions.

When will we hear from the Coach?

We will attempt to share Team allocations and coaching details with players in April. Unfortunately, we tend to experience a lot of last minute registrations which can make a huge impact on team allocations and therefore, there may be some delay. Parents may always reach out to us with any concerns.
