Updated July 26th - MAIN FIELD OPEN for Roma teams registered through Ontario Soccer and scheduled for training.
*** UPDATED May 11th, 2020
As per Ontario Soccer bulletin dated May 11th, 2020, all in person sanctioned soccer related activities, events are cancelled, suspended for June.
**This DOES NOT mean our outdoor summer soccer season is cancelled. WE are still planning for a delayed start to our season and will communicate updates to our members as they become available.
First and foremost, we hope all our Roma soccer families are doing well during this time. We thank all our hard working front line and essential workers who proceed to work each day to continue to provide us with the care and necessities we require.
As of April 7th, 2020, all sanctioned in person soccer related activities including games and practices are cancelled for the month of May as per Ontario Soccer. Our club is proactively reviewing all options including running a complete 2020 outdoor season when safe to do so. Depending on direction, we may also be required to modify our season. Either way, we are committed to providing our soccer families with another exciting season.
We anxiously await direction from Ontario Soccer and will update all our families once we have more information.
For now, registration for 2020 outdoor season remains open. Ontario Soccer encourages you to register now so once clubs receive direction to proceed, they can do so without delay. Should the season be cancelled, we will update everyone accordingly.
We encourage all our soccer superstars to continue training, wash those hands and practice social distancing. Click on the button below for more information about Covid-19 from Niagara Region.

WELCOME BACK!!
Starting July 18th, we started to welcome teams back to training at Roma. We have completed our Return to Play and feel confident we are able to welcome our soccer families back to Roma in a controlled, monitored and safe environment.
WE truly appreciate parent and coach feedback and have incorporated this information in our new protocols and procedures found in our Return to Play guide. Ontario Soccer has now moved to Phase 2 and with your help and support we can safely progress to Phase 3.
Please see our Return to Play information under the Return to Play tab.
________________
We would like to thank you for your continued support and patience while we continue to navigate the current pandemic landscape. At this time, all in-person soccer activities remain suspended as per Ontario Soccer and Canada Soccer.
In follow-up to our email sent out on June 17, 2020; as you are aware, St. Catharines Club Roma Soccer, (along with all other soccer clubs in Niagara), has decided to cancel its 2020 house league - soccer starters through to U18.
As it relates to the travel program, after further significant discussion and consideration; and, again, in line with all other soccer clubs in the Niagara Region who have made the decision to shut down their soccer programs for the remainder of the year; Club Roma Soccer has decided that its travel teams will not participate in Phase 1 of “Return to Play” due to the uncertainties surrounding the current COVID-19 pandemic and the complexity of the “Return to Play” parameters and protocols.
The Board members have carefully and thoroughly considered the current circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the current regulatory restrictions in the Niagara Region, Ontario Soccer’s “Return to Play” format, the confirmed cancellation of the NSL league today, as well as the regulatory guidelines required to ensure the health and safety of our players, coaches and parents. At this time, we feel that we cannot deliver any programming safely during Phase 1.
Having said that, it is our hope that once Phase 2 and Phase 3 are approved, perhaps some time in August or early September, Club Roma Soccer can register its travel players with the NSA at that time and hold a competitive in-house program for our travel teams. As a result, we strongly encourage all travel players to remain hopeful that they will get on the field in 2020, although in a modified format.
Additional information has been sent to families regarding updates and refund options.
We truly appreciate our families registering for 2020 outdoor house league. Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all House League divisions from U4, Soccer Starters through to U18. We will miss seeing our Soccer Superstars and their families this year but look forward to welcoming you back next year on the Pitch!
Refunds will automatically be issued within the coming weeks, however if you wish to transfer your payment to next year, please let us know at scromasoccer@gmail.com.
In the event we are able to move forward with any house league programs, we will communicate that information to members registered through PowerUp and here on our website.
Our annual TiAmo Festival Cup scheduled for July 18th and 19th is now cancelled. We look forward to welcoming over 200 teams and their families to the Niagara Region next year. Once dates for our 2021 TiAmo Festival Cup have been confirmed, they will be posted here on our website.
Women's and Men's leagues including PSL and PVSL have been cancelled.
Please note that Club Roma Soccer is staffed by volunteers and our soccer office is currently under construction. As such, we don’t have regular office hours at this time until House League begins.
If our voicemail (289-697-7662) is full, please email us at scromasoccer@gmail.com or karen.costiff@sympatico.ca. Your questions are important to us and we will respond as quickly as possible.
IMPORTANT!!!! PLEASE NOTE: The staff in the main office at Club Roma (the social club) is not associated with Club Roma Soccer. Please do not call or visit their office as they are unable to assist you.
St. Catharines Club Roma Soccer extends best wishes to Lirim Hajrullahu as he hopes to join the NFL for the 2020/21 season.
Thank you to all of our AMAZING coaches who volunteer their valuable time all year round.
We couldn't do it without YOU!!
