HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING IS NOW AT ROMA!
Email to Roma Soccer House League Families - Aug 13th
Hello Roma Soccer House League Families,
Summer House League 2022 has come to an end. We would like to thank all our Roma house league families, for joining us this season.
THANK YOU to all our wonderful volunteers and parents who stepped in to Coach this season. We know some of you stepped in at the last moment or helped out a team that didn't have a dedicated coach assigned. We appreciate the extra effort you made!
THANK YOU to our Roma Soccer families and friends who got our players where they needed to be on game and practice days. It's not always easy to juggle busy family schedules so we appreciate your efforts especially on those 5pm game days.
If you were unable to join us for our closing event, the soccer office will be open only on Tuesday, August 16th from 6pm to 7:30pm so you can pick up photos and medals. Any issues or questions with the photos can be emailed to Klix Photo directly. Their contact information will be in your photo package.
Registration for 2023 House League @ Roma will open in November. Details will be posted on our website and emailed out to families once confirmed.
A number of players were identified for our travel program last night and we will be reaching out to you to provide more details on travel programs and tryouts. For those who missed out, please keep an eye out on our website for travel tryout details. Tryouts will be happening in September/October. We are currently preparing to schedule Tryout Prep sessions for our house league players who wish to move to travel. More details will be shared once confirmed.
If you are interested in Coaching travel at Roma, please reach out to email@example.com for more information.
THANK YOU again and we look forward to seeing you all next summer!
Our fields continue to dry and we anticipate they will be ready by end of May. Kick off week is May 30th
Meet the Team is cancelled due to shortage of uniforms. Please arrive early to receive your uniform on your first game day!
We have been inundated with registrations, special requests and simply cannot accommodate everyone. Registration is NOW CLOSED for ALL House League divisions. We have long wait lists that continue to grow. If a spot becomes available, we will contact those in order on the wait list.
We communicate via EMAIL ONLY. You MUST OPT IN to receive emails. If you do not, you will not receive important updates regarding your child's team allocations and schedules. Please check your junk mail before emailing our office that you have not received any communication.
We hope to have all uniform orders in before the start of the season. Given the delays and backlog some major brands are facing, uniforms may not all be in on time. Pinnies may be provided in the interim until your uniform arrives.
ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE SHIN PADS
As noted in previous email communication to our house league families, some games for U6 and U8 will take place at 5pm. Your team may be required to play 1 or possibly 2, 5pm games only. This is to accommodate our growing house league and travel membership.
There were a couple things that were brought to my attention that I need to clarify.
1. The first practice is June 4, not tomorrow.
2. For the teams that have them, the uniforms will be handed out on the first day of play for your team. We do not know when the other uniforms will be in- like mentioned before, there are many, many people waiting everywhere so it is anyone's guess at this time. Fingers crossed it is sooner than later!! If you can, try and wear a shirt that is your team colour in the meantime. Don't worry about the uniforms matching on the first day. There is also now a shortage on pinnies due to the shortage of uniforms.
3. Please continue to check your child's schedule regularly on Power Up as we may need to make some changes from time to time and we won't send out an email every time that happens because the changes will be on Power Up and we try not to overwhelm you with emails.
***Please note*** We are receiving more volunteers for coaching (which is fantastic!!) but please be aware that this could mean some changes to your child's team. The reason for this, is that sometimes we have more than one parent on one team volunteer but no one from another team volunteer so we will move one volunteer and/or child to another team so that we can provide another team with a coach. If you are volunteering to be the main or full-time coach, you will need to apply for a vulnerable sector police check if you have not had one done in the last 2 years. It is $20 do do this but you will get the coaches discount to offset that cost. You will also need to fill out the application on Power Up so that I can add you to the team and you can see the roster and contact the families. That only takes a few minutes. The NRPS requires a letter from us which I can provide to you, you would send it in with your police check to the NRPS. It is all done online now, you don't need to go into the police station anymore which is nice.
We do understand that not everyone can commit to this but if you can commit to the games at least one evening a week, that is very helpful! We ask that the coaches attend the practices but if you can not then the parents can help out with that.
