Email to Roma Soccer House League Families - Aug 13th

Hello Roma Soccer House League Families,

Summer House League 2022 has come to an end. We would like to thank all our Roma house league families, for joining us this season.

THANK YOU to all our wonderful volunteers and parents who stepped in to Coach this season. We know some of you stepped in at the last moment or helped out a team that didn't have a dedicated coach assigned. We appreciate the extra effort you made!

THANK YOU to our Roma Soccer families and friends who got our players where they needed to be on game and practice days. It's not always easy to juggle busy family schedules so we appreciate your efforts especially on those 5pm game days.

If you were unable to join us for our closing event, the soccer office will be open only on Tuesday, August 16th from 6pm to 7:30pm so you can pick up photos and medals. Any issues or questions with the photos can be emailed to Klix Photo directly. Their contact information will be in your photo package.

Registration for 2023 House League @ Roma will open in November. Details will be posted on our website and emailed out to families once confirmed.

A number of players were identified for our travel program last night and we will be reaching out to you to provide more details on travel programs and tryouts. For those who missed out, please keep an eye out on our website for travel tryout details. Tryouts will be happening in September/October. We are currently preparing to schedule Tryout Prep sessions for our house league players who wish to move to travel. More details will be shared once confirmed.

If you are interested in Coaching travel at Roma, please reach out to scromasoccer@gmail.com for more information.

THANK YOU again and we look forward to seeing you all next summer!

What days of the week does the house league program play?

A. The games will be played between Monday – Friday.  Standardized Training Schedule for all House League means coaches will have the opportunity to bring their teams to either Club Roma fields or Sir Winston turf on Saturday mornings.

We will be aiming for the following game schedule dependent fully on field availability:          U4, Soccer Starters: Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm at Roma  U6: Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm at Roma  U8: Tuesday from 7pm to 8pm at Roma  U10: Monday games from 6pm to 7pm at Roma  U12: Interlock division with other clubs. I would like to Coach my child's team. What do I do?

When completing your child's registration, there is a section to complete if you would like to volunteer.  Our volunteers receive a coaching discount of $50.00 / U6 and up and $50.00 for U4, Soccer Starters.  All coaches, once approved must provide an up to date Vulnerable Sector Records Check through NRPS. Submit a Coaching application to scromasoccer@gmail.com

Can I make special requests?

No special requests will be taken for 2023 house league season.

How do I reach someone to ask questions?

Email is always best and the quickest. Email scromasoccer@gmail.com for answers to your questions.

When will we hear from the Coach?

We will attempt to share Team allocations and coaching details with players in April. Unfortunately, we tend to experience a lot of last minute registrations which can make a huge impact on team allocations and therefore, there may be some delay. Parents may always reach out to us with any concerns.

What will my child do in the program?

A. Your child will learn basic and developmental soccer skills, team work, have fun, increase their fitness level and make new friends.  Programs are in accordance with Ontario Soccer's Grassroots program in alignment with Long-Term Player Development. https://www.ontariosoccer.net/player-grassroots

Where will my child be playing?

A.  All games will be held at Club Roma as field availability permits.  Otherwise games may be held at Woodgale or parks nearby including the turf field at Sir Winston Churchill High School.  Interlock division games may be played at neighbouring clubs such as Thorold or Niagara on the Lake.

Who mentors my child when they participate in the Program?

A. All of our mentors are parent and/or student volunteers who wish to participate to make a difference in the child's learning experience. All of our volunteers will be offered a chance to participate in ongoing coaching clinics that enhance the quality of our coaches.

If coaches cannot be secured for a team, then parents may be asked to step in and assist.

Is there fee assistance available?

A. Registration assistance is available through programs such as “Pro Kids” and “Jumpstart".  No child will be refused.
